A private, air-conditioned vehicle will be waiting for you, ensuring a smooth, comfortable ride to the starting point of the tour. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the convenience of a personalized Dhaka city tour as your expert driver guides you to the first destination of the day.

Baitul Mukarram National Mosque

Your first stop is the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Dhaka and an architectural marvel that reflects the city’s rich Islamic heritage. The mosque is known for its impressive structure and beautiful, serene surroundings, making it a must-see on your Dhaka sightseeing tour. As you explore the mosque’s inner sanctum, learn about the spiritual importance it holds for the city’s Muslim community, and admire the intricate designs of the mosque’s architecture.

Sadarghat Boat Ride

Next, enjoy a 1-hour boat ride along the Sadarghat River, one of the busiest and most lively areas of Dhaka. This boat ride is an iconic part of the tour, where you’ll get a unique view of the vibrant life along the Buriganga River. Marvel at the busy port, observe the diverse boats that transport goods, and catch glimpses of daily life in Dhaka as you cruise through the waters. It’s a perfect opportunity for photography and a peaceful moment to take in the local atmosphere.

Ahsan Manzil Museum

After the boat ride, head to the Ahsan Manzil Museum, a magnificent historical landmark that was once the residence of Dhaka’s wealthy Nawab family. This royal palace offers fascinating insight into the history of Dhaka’s aristocracy and the city’s architectural development. As you walk through the beautifully restored palace, you’ll see a vast collection of artifacts and photographs that showcase the legacy of the Nawabs. The museum’s opulent interiors and panoramic views of the city are a visual delight for history enthusiasts and visitors alike.

Armenian Church of Dhaka

Continue your exploration with a visit to the Armenian Church of Dhaka, a beautiful and serene place that highlights the colonial past of the city. The church was originally built in the 18th century for the Armenian community that once flourished in Dhaka. Admire the stunning architecture, with its tall spires and delicate interiors, and take a moment to appreciate the quiet atmosphere that offers a stark contrast to the bustling city life outside. The church is not just a place of worship, but a key historical landmark that tells the story of Dhaka’s diverse cultural and religious heritage.

Tara Masjid (Star Mosque)

Next, visit the Tara Masjid (Star Mosque), one of Dhaka’s most visually striking mosques. Famous for its intricate tilework and unique star-shaped designs, this mosque is an excellent example of Islamic architecture in Bangladesh. The mosque’s serene ambiance and its beautifully decorated walls make it an architectural wonder in the heart of the city. The bright blue tiles and ornate interior design provide the perfect backdrop for visitors looking to understand the beauty of Islamic art in Dhaka.

Lalbagh Fort

The next highlight of your Private Guided Tour of Dhaka is the Lalbagh Fort, a Mughal-era fort that was started in the 17th century by the Mughal Prince, Muhammad Azam. This majestic fort is surrounded by lush gardens and features a blend of Mughal, Persian, and European architectural styles. Explore the fort’s historical significance, including its stunning tomb, the diwan-i-khas, and the museum that showcases Mughal history. Stroll through the garden and learn about the fort’s strategic importance during the Mughal era, all while appreciating the beauty of the fort’s architectural design.

Lunch Break

After an enriching morning of exploration, enjoy a delicious lunch break at one of Dhaka’s local restaurants. Savor authentic Bangladeshi dishes like Biryani, Bhuna Khichuri, or Panta Ilish (fermented rice with hilsa fish) and relax with a drink as you recharge for the next part of your tour. Your guide will be happy to recommend local specialties and share some cultural insights during this break. The lunch experience is an essential part of your journey through Dhaka, giving you a taste of the city’s rich culinary traditions.

Dhakeshwari National Temple

After lunch, continue your journey to the Dhakeshwari National Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples in Dhaka. Known as the "Temple of Dhaka," this sacred site is dedicated to the goddess Durga. The temple’s simple yet elegant design reflects the spiritual and religious diversity of Dhaka. As you walk through the temple, learn about the religious practices of the Hindu community in Bangladesh and how the temple has remained a central place of worship for centuries.

Central Shaheed Minar

Next, visit the Central Shaheed Minar, a monumental landmark dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 1952 Language Movement. This powerful symbol of Bangladesh’s struggle for linguistic rights is a poignant reminder of the country’s history and the importance of preserving culture and identity. The monument’s striking design, featuring towering columns and steps, offers a place for reflection and understanding of the significant political and cultural movements that shaped modern-day Bangladesh.

Curzon Hall

Your final stop on this memorable day will be Curzon Hall, part of Dhaka University and a stunning example of colonial-era architecture. This grand building features a blend of British colonial style with traditional Bengali architectural elements. Admire the majestic columns, high ceilings, and intricate details that reflect the history of education in Dhaka. Great experience in Dhaka!

We had the best time exploring the city with our guide Mizan. We especially loved the beautiful Pink Palace and the boat ride. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Highly recommended if you have only one day to spend in the city and you want to see as much as possible!.

I was pretty pleased with the services provided by Mam Holidays. There was a little bit of confusion picking me up from Dhaka Airport due to the chaotic nature of Hazrat Shahlajal, but that is water under the bridge. They definitely condensed the sightseeing attractions into a day which I greatly appreciated due to me only being in Bangladesh for 48 hours. The guide was very friendly but was a bit hard to understand at times. A little bit of work on that will be very helpful. I also really appreciated Mr Abdul Kashem tacking on a visit to the National Martyr's Monument in the afternoon free of charge after we finished all the Dhaka sightseeing attractions in the morning. He also gave me a huge discount for being a student which was very good. Overall, I can safely say that Mam Holidays will be an excellent asset towards making your stay in Bangladesh smooth and enjoyable, and will not hesitate to recommend them with the highest possible accolades..
